Ella M. Annis, age 99, of Oshkosh, died Monday afternoon, March 15, 2004 at Gabriella's Villa. She was born on July 17, 1904 in Oshkosh to Adolph and Emma (Schmidt) Vohsberg. Ella married Clarence Annis on September 24, 1924 on Oshkosh and he preceded her in death on September 25, 1983.
Ella was employed for 35 years at S.S. Kresge until her retirement. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, the Altar Guild, and was a Sunday School teacher for 17 years. Ella was a charter member of Bethel Home Auxiliary.
Survivors include two daughters: Nancy Nelson of Ashland, Wisconsin; Barbara (Peter) Swan of Long Island, New York; one sister: Jeanette Sherwood of Bakersfield, California; 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Ella was preceded in death by her husband, two sons: Ronald and Jerry Annis; two sisters: Martha Werner and Viola Boughton; and one brother: Herbert Vohsberg.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1860 Wisconsin Street, with Reverend Arnold Stilwell officiating. Interment will follow services at Lake View Memorial Park. Family and friends may call on Saturday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorials in Ella's memory may be made to Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
