Elmer "Bud" Jensen, age 87, of Omro, died peacefully Sunday afternoon, January 11, 2009 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. Bud was born April 9, 1921, in the town of Leon, the son of Morton and Amelia Petersen. He married Sharla "Shar" Stratton on December 29, 1956. He had served in the US Navy, during WWII, and was a long time member of the American Legion Post # 364 in Winneconne. Bud had worked many years ago at the Ford Garage in Winneconne, then later was a route salesman for Kohl's selling ice cream. After he retired, Bud sold John Deere tractors from his home in Omro for many years.
Bud is loved and will be missed by his wife, Sharla "Shar"; nieces and nephews, Jeanette King of Wild Rose, Gerald King of New York, Kathie (Ron) Peters of Ocala, Fl, Karen Jensen of St. Paul, MN, Kenneth Jensen of Oshkosh, Kim (Tim) Spoerl of Mosinee, Fred Jorgensen of MN, Sue (Ron) Jansen of Mt. Morris and Mark (Sherry) Jorgensen of Wautoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Bernard Jensen and sisters, Henrietta King and Evelyn Jorgensen.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2009, at the Omro Funeral Home from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the funeral service at 12 Noon, with Chaplain Wayne Schwanke of the Wisconsin Veterans Home officiating. Memorials in Bud's name may be directed to American Legion Post 364, 536 W. Main St., Winneconne, WI 54986.
