Obituary

Elmer J. Kruske, age 86, of Oshkosh, died Monday morning, February 9, 2004 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born on February 1, 1918 in Berlin, of Green Lake County, to John and Anna (Rolla) Kruske. Elmer married Phyllis Wulk on May 31, 1947 at St. Vincent Catholic Church in Oshkosh and she preceded him in death on November 27, 1995.
Elmer delivered papers in Berlin as a small boy and was an altar boy at St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a graduate of Berlin High School Class of 1938. He was a WWII Army Veteran having served in England, Belgium, France, and Germany. He was with General Patton during the Battle of the Bulge. Elmer was employed by Leach Company and the Central Stores at UW-Oshkosh in the custodial departments until his retirement in 1980. He was a member of St. Vincent Catholic Church and the Oshkosh VFW.
Surviving is one sister: Virginia (Robert) Waters of Berlin and nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 13, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Vincent Catholic Church, 216 W. South Park Ave., with Reverend William Van DeKreeke officiating. Entombment will be at Lake View Memorial Park. Family and friends may call on Friday at the church from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Memorials to the American Heart Association or St. Vincent Catholic Church are appreciated.
