Elmer J. Owens, of Oshkosh, died at Harbor House on Friday, May 14, 2010. He was born in Ring on April 25, 1930 to Byron and Jessie (Weller) Owens. On March 22, 1952 he married Carol L. Braun.
A life-long member of Peniel church, Elmer participated in and was a National member of the Gymanfa Ganu Association. Elmer was a committed family man who adored his wife, and enjoyed time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He worked all of his life as a dairy farmer who loved to be outdoors and hunt. He was best described as a quiet man with a good sense of humor.
Mourning the death of Elmer is his wife of 58 years, Carol Owens; children: Lynette (Neil) Booth, Loanne (Jon) Flaig, Matthew Owens, and Michelle (Myron) Nelson; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Elmer was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Nikki Anne and Macey Quinn Nelson.
Funeral services for Elmer will be held in Oshkosh at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street. A time for sharing support and visiting will be held at the funeral chapel on Tuesday, from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service. Interment will take place in Zoar Cemetery.
