Esther Marie Bohlssen, age 81, of Oshkosh passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Park View Health Center. Born the daughter of Anthony and Lucile (Nelson) Sieloff, Esther married Ralph Bohlssen on August 19, 1950 and he preceded her in death on August 1, 2007.
In the past, Esther and Ralph enjoyed a couple months every year in Alabama during the cold Wisconsin winters. She was an active member of First Congregational Church where she was involved with the women's fellowship. Volunteering was an important part of her life as well, she volunteered at EAA and the Oshkosh Area Food Pantry. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Those left to remember Esther include her children, Debbie (Steve) Meixensperger of Kaukauna, Stephen (Sue) Bohlssen of Omro, Dena (Jeff) Collier of Menasha, Darci (Mark) Matulle of Oshkosh, Kari (Mike) Malek of Whitewater; grandchildren, Brian (Amy) Meixensperger, Lisa (Todd) Sanders, Erin (Jim) Diedrick, Kirstin (Tom) Krause, Todd (Rachel) Collier, Clayton Matulle, Kyle Norton, Sarah Malek; great-grandchildren, Caylee, Kiara, Jordan and Max. She is also survived by her sister, JoAnn Pable. Esther was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, John and George Sieloff.
A memorial service will be held for Esther at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at First Congregational Church, 137 Algoma Boulevard with Reverend Ralph DiBiasio-Snyder officiating. Visitation will take place at the church on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service. Esther and her husband chose to donate their bodies to the UW-Madison Medical School. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to First Congregational Church or Park View Health Center.
