Esther L. Fierke, formerly of Oshkosh, now residing in Ft. Worth. Texas died after a brief illness in Ft. Worth on December 4, 2006. She was born in the Town of Forest, Fond du Lac County on September 21, 1913, the daughter of Martha and Edward Krug, and moved to Oshkosh shortly thereafter. She was a lifelong resident of Oshkosh until moving to Ft. Worth earlier this year to be near her son and daughter-in-law. Ester was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She married Arthur "Jim" Fierke on June 9, 1940. He preceded her in death in March 2001.
Esther worked for over 25 years at Jeffrey's Clothing Store. She was a lifelong member of First English Lutheran Church working for over 50 years in the Sunday School and active in the Christian Fellowship Society.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Linda Fierke of Ft. Worth; grandsons, Sean and wife Anna of Austin, Texas, and Shelby of Dallas, Texas.
Services will be held on Friday, December 8th at 2:00 p.m. at the Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Sweet with the Reverend Tim Greenwald officiating. Family and friends may visit at the Seefeld Oregon Street Chapel from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service. There will be a private burial at Peace Lutheran Cemetery.
