Esther I. Jones, 88, of Oshkosh, found peace on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 after struggling with heart disease. She was born in Wausau on February 25, 1920, a daughter of the late Herman and Anna (Radke) Juedes. She was married to Robert J. Jones from July 10, 1941 to his passing on October 30, 1968.
Esther came from a big family and was dedicated to raising her children. She was primarily a homemaker but did work for several years as a housekeeper at the Holiday Inn after her husband was gone. The happy things in her life were the enjoyment she got while bowling, playing golf, reading, working crossword puzzles and traveling via bus trips.
Remembering Esther are her children: Linda (James "Jack") Verwiel, Warren (Lynn) Jones both of Oshkosh and Randy (Laurie) Jones of Appleton; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Amy (Jeff) Kline and their son Spencer, Ryan (Heather) Verwiel and his son Austin, Chad (Tonya) Huisman and their children Taylor and Hailey, Lyndsey (Sam) Houle, Briana, Jenn, Bob and Lisa Jones; and siblings: Raymond Juedes, Herman "Buddy" (Lorraine) Juedes, Ralph (Geri) Juedes, Roger Juedes and special friend Marge, Eleanore "Mutzi" Zastrow and Millie (Jack) Jablonski. Esther had grown very close to her niece Julie Chilla of Wausau.
Preceding her in death were her son, Dennis Gregory Jones, and her siblings, Elmer Juedes, Edwin Juedes, Arline Klemmer, Floyd Juedes, Marion Chilla and infant brother Walter Juedes.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at the Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, Oshkosh.
