Ethel Mae "Sally" Resop, age 74, of Oshkosh, died peacefully Thursday morning, November 1, 2007 at her home. She was born on April 24, 1933 in Oshkosh to Newell Evanson and Ethel Witt. Sally married David "Blackie" Resop, her high school sweetheart, on August 29, 1953 in Oshkosh. Blackie preceded her in death on May 3, 1991.
Sally was a "soda jerk" at the Wigwam, a candy-maker at Oaks Candy Store, and was later employed by AT&T as a switchboard operator. She was a dedicated homemaker and wonderful mother. She was an avid Barbie Collector and sports fan (especially the Cubs), enjoyed playing slot-machines, crafting, and had a big soft spot for any type of furry or feathered animal.
Survivors include three sons, David Michael (Lorrie) Resop, Daniel James (fiancee Tina Peterman) Resop, and Darwin Matthew (Jayme Roskom) Resop, all of Oshkosh; two daughters, Sheryl Louise (Patrick) Faul of Oshkosh, and Sandra Deanne (Mark) Cordell of Ooltewah, Tennessee; 10 grandchildren, Shelby, Megan, Bill, Heather, Tamera, Danielle, Levi, Dalton, Corwin, and Savanna; 5 great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Joseph, Whitney, Selina, and Davvon; and 2 half-sisters, Shelly Wink and Susan Wink.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, with Reverend William Van DeKreeke officiating. Entombment will be in Good Shepherd Garden Mausoleum at Lake View Memorial Park. A time of visitation and sharing of memories will be held on Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and also on Wednesday from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. A memorial is being established in Sally's memory.
