Eugene R. "Gene" Pflanzer, age 65, of Oshkosh, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 7, 2004. He was born in Ashland on July 18, 1938, a son of the late Frank and Martha (Zier) Pflanzer.
Gene leaves behind his children, Leon "Ben" (Tammy) Smith, Thomas (Michelle) Smith, Bonnie (Michael Rost) Pflanzer, Angela Pflanzer, Jim (Donna) Davis and Wanda Mathison; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry and Frank, as well as by his parents. He is survived by his siblings Carl (Patricia) Pflanzer, Lois (Joseph) Bochinski, David (Lucy) Pflanzer and Judy Bumgarner along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of his life will be held at 7:00 PM this evening, Wednesday, June 9th, at the Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, the Rev. Arnold Stilwell officiating. Family and friends may gather at the Seefeld Oregon Street Chapel beginning today at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
Interment services will take place at St. Agnes Cemetery in Ashland on Thursday at 1:00 PM. Military honors to recognize his service to our country in the Air Force will be held.
