Oshkosh- Eugene F. Winkel "Whitey" age 70 of Oshkosh, died peacefully Wednesday evening March 17, 2004. He was born in Sheboygan, WI. the son of Arvin and Margaret Goebel Winkel.

Gene moved to Oshkosh in 1990 after retiring as an employee for the City of Kiel. In retirement, he worked nine years for Affinity Health Systems part-time in Security with his good friend Ben. Gene was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. His major accomplishment in life was being a good father and a proud grandfather.

Gene is lovingly survived by his son and daughter-in-law; Craig & Robin Winkel of Oshkosh, daughter and son-in-law; Torie and Stan Forrest of Kissimmee, Fl., grandson; Ryan of Oshkosh, granddaughter; Amber of Kissimmee, Fl., sister and brother-in-law; Arlene and Roger Collin of New Holstein, WI, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Funeral Services will be private for the family.
