Obituary

Evelyn E. Heise, age 98, of the Town of Nepeuskun, passed away peacefully, Monday, May 14, 2018 at Whispering Pines Nursing Home in Ripon. Evelyn was born February 4, 1920, in Auroraville, the daughter of Herman and Augusta (Bowe) Nitzke. She married Harry Heise in Auroraville on February 23, 1938. He preceded her in death, January 31, 1990. They had lived in Omro until 1966 and then moved to the Ripon area. Evelyn had worked at Wilson Hurd in Berlin for 16 years. After her retirement, she wintered in Florida. Evelyn was faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church in Omro for 62 years and taught Sunday school in her early years.
Evelyn is loved and will be missed by her sons, James (Verna) Heise of Ripon and Robert (Diane) Heise of Dewey, AZ; sister, Jeannette Gebauer of Winneconne; 4 grandchildren, Randy (Kate) Heise of Ripon, Teresa Blade of Ripon, Jeff (Amy) Heise of Omro, Jerry (Debbie) Heise of AZ; 3 step-grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, other relatives and many near and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Augusta Nitzke; husband, Harry; brothers, Ebert Nitzke, Wallace Nitzke; sister, Aves Chier and great granddaughter, Winter Rose Heise.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Grace Lutheran Church, 720 Jackson Ave., Omro from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and then again on Friday, May 18, at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Richard Bartholomew officiating. Evelyn will be placed to rest next to her husband at Omro Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Foley and his nurse, Adam, as well as the entire staff at Whispering Pines Nursing Home in Ripon for the excellent care and support given to Evelyn.
Evelyn will be loved and missed by family and friends and will always be remembered for brightening the lives of the people she touched.
