Evelyn L. Pierce, age 93, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 13, 2011. She was born September 20, 1917, to Anna and Edward Kassen in Milwaukee. She is survived by her son, Edward (Gale) Pierce of Omro; their children, Jody Arndt, the late Edward J. Pierce, Crystal (Larry) Kirchner and Ryan Pierce. Great grandchildren, Heather, Hailey and Hannah Arndt and great-great granddaughter, Isabella. Daughter, Lila (Paul) Dettlaff of Chadsworth, GA; their children, Paul (Michelle) Dettlaff, Kym Stutzman and Sandi (Mark) Batchelor; great grandchildren, Chad Dettlaff, Tara (Todd) Forward, Cody and Tyler Dettlaff, Austin and Chase Batchelor. Daughter, Karen Sotala of Houghton, MI; her children, Terri Sotala and Todd Sotala; great grandchildren, Rachael and Karissa Sotala, Amanda, Brett and Evan Thompson. Daughter, Susan (Boomer) Simons of Garrison, MN; her children, Mark (Hemi) Perlberg and Craig Perlberg; great grandchildren, Isabelle, Kobe and Kiegen. She is also survived by her sister, Marjorie Mikalowski of Milwaukee, David and Lynette Shelvik and special grandson, Adam, and many nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her friends at Fox View Manor, Northwest Seventh Day Adventist Church, Milwaukee and Fox Valley Adventist Church in Neenah. She is preceded in death by an infant son, Leland; great granddaughter, Stephanie; son-in-law, Martin Sotala; sisters, Lucille Kassen, Marion Spott and Lorraine Christensen.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service with Pastor Samuel Garbi officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established. The family would like to give thanks to Dr. Al Nouri's nurse, Roxanne for being a good friend and a great nurse, and the Omro Care Center for their excellent care of our Mother.
