Evelyn Gladys Schirmacher, age 92, died at Heartwood Homes in Appleton on Thursday, October 18, 2007. She was born January 14, 1915 to William and Winnifred (Durrant) Morey. She married Clarence Schirmacher on August 14, 1938. They enjoyed 45 years together until his death on December 20, 1983.
Evelyn worked in food service all of her life. She began as a farmer then worked food service at Eagleton Nursing Home in Eagleton, followed by St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls, Keller Nursing Home, and finally retired from Park View Health Center in 1980. She was a member of the P.A. Auxiliary and a member of First United Methodist Church.
Evelyn is survived by her children: Richard (Judy) Schirmacher of Eau Claire, Bernard (Ruth) Schirmacher of Salt Lake City, Utah, Nancy (Frank) Weisenbeck of Mondovi, Beverly Schirmacher of Appleton, Maurice (Janet) Schirmacher of Chippewa Falls, Donna Becker of Appleton and, Maxine (Tim) Wagner of Oshkosh. She is further survived by 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and sisters: Wilma (Clifford) Konechney of Cadott and June (Ed) LaNou of Jim Falls. She was preceded in death by two sons: Glenn and Ralph Schirmacher, and one sister: Leone Hautamaki.
A time of visitation for sharing memories and support will be held from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 21, 2007 at Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 300 N. Eagle Street. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 22, 2007 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel in Chippewa Falls, 44 East Columbia Street.
