Evelyn Schmidt, 90, of Redgranite, passed away at home with her family by her side. Evelyn was born to Joseph and Stella (Grimes) Karasinski in Langlade, Wisconsin on January 31, 1927. She married Franklin Schmidt on May 24, 1948 in Illinois. They had 7 fabulous children together. She was a long time employee of Buckstaff Furniture in Oshkosh. Evelyn was a wonderful cook. She made the best bread for her family. She was an avid reader who enjoyed mysteries. She loved nature. She had many plants outside of her home and received joy out of watching the birds come to the bird feeders. Evelyn was so easy to talk to, and she always had something to say.
Evelyn enjoyed being "half-crocked" and listening to Wooley Bully with her family. She will be missed for her humor.
Evelyn is survived by her children: Rod (Mary) Schmidt, Jeff Schmidt, Frank (Jerri Moore) Schmidt, Carla Schmidt, Leanne (William Bleecker) Bleecker, Randy Schmidt, and Roxanne (Terrry Glasheen) Schmidt, her twenty grandchildren, twenty four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter, and her sister: Jeanette Kester. Evelyn is also survived by many other family members and friends.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her brother: Ted (Hazel) Karasinski, her sisters: Violet Karasinski, Julianne Karasinski, Eileen (Lee) Byczynski, and her Grandchildren: Jimmie Bleecker, Amanda Schmidt, her brother-in-law: Owen Kester, and her parents: Joseph and Stella (Grimes) Karasinski.
A memorial service for Evelyn will take place on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Seefeld Funeral Home. A time of visitation for Evelyn will take place on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, prior to the memorial service, between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial for Evelyn will take place on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at 2:30 pm at Lakeview Memorial Park, in Oshkosh.
