Florence E. Devens, age 91, of Oshkosh, died Saturday morning, October 19, 2013, at Park View Health Center. Born on July 21, 1922, in Oshkosh, the daughter of Henry and Emma (Kaminski) Hurkman, Florence married Alfred Devens on February 26, 1949, in Oshkosh. They farmed for many years in the Town of Vinland area until retiring. Alfred preceded Florence in death on June 7, 2002.
Left to mourn her passing are her children, Deborah Devens Bartelt, Teri (Thomas) Devens Karrels, and Todd (Jody) Devens; her grandchildren, Amanda (Kyle Dahlman) Goland, Carl and Kim Bartelt, Michael Karrels, Katie (Matthew) Karrels Armatoski, Samantha, Callie, and Joe Devens, Adam, Eric, and Emma Devens; great grandchildren, Izabella and Graham Goland, and Maddie Devens; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Preceding Florence in death is her parents, husband, two sons, Douglas Alfred Devens and Timothy Lee Devens, a brother, Robert Hurkman, and a son-in-law, Doug Schommer.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Parkview Health Center for all of the loving care and support they gave her during two rehabilitation stays.
