Florence L. Longworth, age 92, of Omro, passed away on Friday morning, May 27, 2005 at the Omro Care Center. She was born August 2, 1912 in Shawano County, WI., the daughter of the late Agnes and James Buck. She attended school in Tigerton. She married Homer H. Longworth on August 29, 1929. They made their home and farmed most of their life in the Omro area. Upon their retirement, they moved to Omro and continued helping their family wherever they were needed. Florence worked for the Omro High School as a custodian for 10 years. Homer preceded her in death on March 26, 1997.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Leslie Loker of Oshkosh and Sharon and Jack Spiegelberg of Winneconne; three sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Mavis Longworth of Butte des Morts, Arden and Marge Longworth and Larry and Sharlene Longworth all of Omro, WI.; 18 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 18 great-great grandchildren; one sister, Mabel Thorsen of Wittenberg, WI.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer; two brothers, Wilbert and Stanley Buck; one sister, Hazel Brunner; five brothers-in-law, Joe Thorsen, Elmer Brunner, Kenneth Stiller, Gaylord Longworth and Chester Longworth; and five sisters-in-law, Beatrice Stiller, Edna Longworth, Maria Buck and Marcy Buck.
Private family services will be held with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery in the town of Poygan.
