Obituary

Frances Julia Bryant Hintz, age 94, of Oshkosh, died on Thursday, December 30, 2004 at Evergreen Retirement Community. Frances was born on July 26, 1910 in Twin Falls, Idaho and as a child moved to Ogden, Utah. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Utah in 1932. She then went to Washington, DC where she worked in the Department of Agriculture. In 1937 she became director of the home economics practice house at the University of Maryland. Frances married Carl W. Hintz, university librarian at Maryland, in 1939. She moved with her family to Homewood, Illinois in 1946 and then to Eugene, Oregon in 1948. Returning to the university, Frances received her master's degree in counseling from the University of Oregon in 1969. She has been a resident of Oshkosh since 1997 and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and PEO. Carl Hintz, her husband of 65 years, died on June 15, 2004.
Survivors include sons, Stephen (Anne) and Peter (Carole) Hintz; four grandchildren, Daniel (Krista Twesme), Kristen Kidwell, Gordon, and Kimberly; two great-grandchildren, William Henry and Kayla Marie; two nephews, Rod (Brenda) and Trent (Janet) Lipscomb.
Private services will be held on January 3, 2005. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery next to her beloved husband Carl. The staff of Seefeld Funeral and Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements.
