Frank Willard Hodel, age 77, passed away at home on January 29, 2026, in Omro, WI. He was born to parents, Willard E. and Ardelle Elaine (Wilson) Hodel on October 7, 1948, in WI.
He attended high school and went into the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. Frank proudly served as a spec 4 Specialist/ Helicopter Technician. He wasn’t able to talk about some of the missions, but he was entrusted to go across enemy lines to fix downed helicopters.
After he returned to the states, he spent a lot of time as an outdoorsman. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing with his brothers. He also liked to garden and attend to his yard. Frank could be described as quiet and reserved, but always kindhearted and willing to help others.
Frank is survived by his siblings, Dianah Wayde, Dan Hodel, Linda (Michael) Spivey, Anna Reischl, Mark (Alice) Hodel and Tammie (Gary) Bartman; many special nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Preceding him in death was his parents, Willard E. and Ardelle Elaine (Wilson) Hodel; and brother, Joseph Hodel.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his honor.
A private family service will be held.
