Obituary

Gene A. "Bones" Tank, age 78 of Oshkosh, died at his home on Thursday, April 9, 2009. He was born in Oshkosh on December 13, 1930 to Arthur and Flora (Zweifel) Tank. On July 31, 1954 he married Beatrice J. Binder in St. Vincent Catholic Church.
Bones was a good husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved the outdoors: hunting, fishing, golfing, and camping at Jellystone Park. He worked for Rockwell as a tool maker for 43 years. A handyman and jack of all trades he was a trusted advisor. Bones was fair and honest. A man with deep faith, he was a lifetime member of Bethany United Church of Christ where he served as treasurer for many years. He would tell you that he took Religion 101. He was energetic, had a good sense of humor, and a thirst for knowledge. He loved to travel.
Surviving Bones are his wife of 54 years, Beatrice; children: Gary (Helen), Glen (Lori), Steve, Sandy Earl, and Mark (Jennifer); grandchildren: Connie, Dawn, Jamie, Courtney, Neenah, Whitney, and Carrigan; great-granddaughter, Alli; brother, LeRoy (Gloria) Tank; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held for Bones at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 13, 2009, at Bethany United Church of Christ, 145 West 24th Avenue. A time of gathering and sharing support will be held at the church on Monday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Bethany United Church of Christ or Affinity Hospice. Please visit www.seefeldfuneral.com to send online condolences to the family.
