George R. "Bob" Bauer, age 81, of rural Winneconne, died peacefully Thursday evening June 12, 2008 at his residence. Bob was born on February 20, 1927, the son of Edward A. and Mabel M. (Lang) Bauer. He married Elaine C. Daubert on September 9, 1967; she preceded him in death on December 13, 1992. Farming was Bob's life. He was born and raised on the family homestead and never left the farm; starting out as a dairy farmer and later becoming a cattle farmer. He was well known in the area for his expertise and knowledge of cattle. Bob also took pleasure in going to town and enjoying a cup of coffee with friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at the Omro Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 P.M. with Pastor Dan Gibson officiating. Bob will be laid to rest next to his wife at St. Thomas Cemetery in Poygan. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.

Bob will be fondly remembered and missed by his nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
