George E. Dimpfl, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014. He was born on October 7, 1931, to Joseph and Louise (Weiner) Dimpfl. He was a 1949 graduate of Oshkosh High School, then enlisted in the US Navy and served from 1950 to 1954 aboard the USS Frybarger, as a 2nd class radar man. George married Alice Krug on March 19, 1960. He was a member of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. George had worked for 13 years as a Service Representative for Monroe Calculating Machine Co. (Litton Industries), first in Milwaukee and then in Oshkosh. He retired from Oshkosh Truck Corporation in 1993 after working there 25 years. After retirement, he returned to Oshkosh Truck and worked 12 more years as an independent contractor. George had many hobbies - reading, collecting beer labels from around the world, old post cards of Oshkosh and was a coin collector. He loved old cars and had restored a 1937 De Soto.
George is survived by his wife, Alice; two daughters, Lynn (Tim) Suess, Greenville, WI and Sue (Jeff) Wicinsky, Winneconne, WI; grandson, Jaiden Wicinsky, Winneconne, WI; grand dog Lucky Lue; brother, Edward Dimpfl, Oshkosh, WI; brother-in-law, Chris (Ellen) Anderson, Oshkosh, WI; nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Joseph Dimpfl.
Private Family Services are being held. The family would like to thank the caregivers of the Waterford at Oshkosh and Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care.
George will be remembered for his humorous take on any situation.
