George Gaertner, Jr., age 75, of Omro, died peacefully surrounded by the love of his family and his loving companion, on Thursday evening, October 24, 2013. George was born on April 29, 1938, the son of George and Maria (Schneider) Gaertner. George was blessed with six daughters and had a special place in his heart for fine woodworking and building with his hands, farming, nurturing his gardens and beautiful pet peacocks.

George will be loved and missed by his soul mate Dolores Patroelj, his daughters Donna (David) Hodges, Anita Gubin, Barbara Van Clake, Sylvia (David) Gohlke, Rose (Scott) Neubauer, and Elizabeth (Bruce) Kimball, his brothers Franz (Joyce) Gaertner and Wendall (Paula) Gaertner, his sister Lisa (Earl) Matlack ,sister-in-law Bridgette Gaertner as well as many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Joseph (Bridgette) Gaertner.

A memorial gathering and informal service for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at the Omro Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
