George W. Wilz, age 65, of Omro, passed away suddenly, October 11, 2008 at his home. He was born on December 17, 1942 in Neenah, WI., the son of Andrew and Marie (Dvorak) Wilz. George attended Omro schools. He worked for several years at Mercury Marine. George was kind hearted and loved the outdoors and the water. He spent much of his time fishing and boating, he then turned that love into his career when he opened George's Bait Shop many years ago.

George is survived by one sister, Patricia (Ben) Niemuth of Green Lake; one sister in law, Joyce Wilz of Omro, several nieces and nephews; many dear friends and his K-9 companion, Cody. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Dorothy Fleming and two brothers, Andrew Wilz, Jr., and Donald Wilz, all of Omro.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2008, at the funeral home in Omro from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 6:30 p.m.
