Gerald "Jerry" Moen, age 72, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 11, 2024. He was born March 18, 1951, to Leonard and Dolores Moen (O'Krueg) in Washington, D.C. Growing up he moved around as part of a military family to Minnesota, Long Island, NY, Ohio, Washington, Australia and back to Wisconsin. He graduated from Oshkosh (West) High School in 1969. During his career, he worked in several local grocery stores prior to starting a 23-year career with the US Postal Service in Neenah.
In September 1975, Jerry married Barbara Anton. Together, they raised a son.
Jerry enjoyed bowling, skiing, golf, travel and strategy games. He had a love of singing alongside his siblings and spent several years performing with the local barbershop quartet. He rode a motorcycle (only on rainy days) because he shared it with his brother and those were Jerry's days. Jerry was a great entertainer, teller of stories, history buff and had a passion for movies of all genres.
He is survived by his son, James (Tracie) Moen; brother, Thomas (Barbara) Moen; sisters, Kathy (Jim) Pomplun and Karen Storlien; grandchildren, Charles and Harrison Moen. He is also survived by a niece; 9 nephews and an extended family who held a special place in his heart.
Jerry is preceded in death by his mother; father; brother, Michael; and brother-in-law, Larry Storlien.
Friends and family are invited to honor Jerry's memory during a visitation and celebration of life on Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 12:30pm until 2:30pm at Seefeld Funeral Home, 1025 Oregon St., Oshkosh.
