Obituary

Gerald M. Molthen, age 86, of Princeton, passed away on Tuesday evening, October 27, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh. He was born in Fox Lake on October 8, 1923, the son of Lester and Margaret (Hoeft) Molthen. Jerry grew up in Fox Lake and graduated from Fox Lake High School. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II. He spent most of his working career in Illinois employed as a machinist at Rockford Products. Jerry married Florence Summers on June 23, 1951 and she preceded him in death in 1981. He was also recently preceded in death by his loving companion of 25 years, Joanne Long.
Jerry was an avid hunter and fisherman in his younger years. Later in life he enjoyed traveling, going to the casino, watching football and playing cards.
Jerry's memory will be cherished by Joanne's family: daughters, Tammy (Scott) Greening of Berlin and Wendy (Rickey) Brinkley of Benson, North Carolina; and grandchildren, Taylor and Bryce Greening, Evan, Ethan and Ryley Brinkley.
Honoring Jerry's wishes, cremation will take place with no formal funeral service. Care was arranged through Seefeld Funeral and Cremation Services in Oshkosh. Condolences may be shared online at www.seefeldfuneral.com.
