Gerald "Jerry" Sitter, age 70, of Oshkosh, died Thursday morning, March 10, 2005 at Aurora Medical Center. He was born on January 26, 1935 in Oshkosh to Joe and Lillian (Kienast) Sitter. Jerry married Shirley Huntington on May 7, 1955 in Oshkosh. Jerry was the owner/operator of Pazen Transfer Line from 1973 until 1987. He later owned and operated Sitter's Spur Station and drove van for Winn-Fox system.
Jerry enjoyed time spent with family and friends, especially at his cottage near Townsend, Wisconsin, where he fished and feed the deer. He liked all kinds of animals and was known to play bingo occasionally.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years: Shirley Sitter of Oshkosh; three sons: William Sitter of Oshkosh; Jerry (Marjie) Sitter of Omro; and J. Scott (Dara) Sitter of Butte de Morts; eight grandchildren: Bill, Andy, Courtney, Kendele, Greg, Kimberly, Adam, and Ryan; two great-granddaughters: Janna and Madysen. Preceding Jerry in death are his parents, stepfather: William Fraser, and two granddaughters: Andrea and Kara.
Neighbors and friends may greet the family on Sunday, March 13, 2005 at Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Private family funeral services are being conducted. A memorial in Jerry's memory is being established by his family.
