Obituary

Geraldine "Geri" Ellis, age 96, of Oshkosh, formerly of Eureka, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on the Lord's Day, Sunday, December 30, 2012. Geri was born in Clintonville on June 21, 1916, the daughter of Herman and Cecelia (Bucholtz) Koehn. She married the love of her life, Arnold Ellis on October 8, 1934 in Omro. He preceded her in death on November 30, 1993. Geri and her husband were "Grade A" farmers in the Eureka area for many years. They were members of the Eureka United Methodist Church and the Holstein Friesian Association of America. In addition to farming, they owned and operated Blue Sky Gardens and Nursery of Eureka. Geri shared her generosity and kindness as a member of the Ladies Aid Society of the Church; a member of the local home-makers club, a member of the Rebecca's and also gave freely of her time and volunteered for Father Carr and Mercy Medical Center. She loved to cook and make her home-made dinner rolls and also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. Geri loved one and all and we know she will continue to love us for eternity.

Geri is loved and will be missed by her daughter, Carole (Willie) Lee of Frankfort, MI; grandchildren, William (Sue) Lee of Frankfort, MI, Terri (Sam) Schaffer of Oshkosh; great grandchildren, Trevor and Daniel Lee; brother, Charles (Dee) Koehn of Markesan; sisters, Vivian (Gene) Jordan of Oshkosh, Patricia (Edward) Sorterberg of MN, Phyllis (Donald) Brezgel of Franklin, WI; sisters in law, Margaret Koehn of Antigo, Betty Koehn of Roseville, MI; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Arnold; brothers, Herman, Robert, Kenneth; sisters, Betty Pukis, Cecelia Weber, Shirley Liend; sister in law, Barbara Koehn; brother in laws, Paul Pukis, Nicholas Weber, and Rocky Liend.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at the Eureka United Methodist Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Anita Genrich officiating. A luncheon will follow and all are welcome. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Eureka Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Geri's name has been established for the Children's Nursery at Eureka United Methodist Church.

The family extends a special thank you to the following: Eureka United Methodist Church Family for faithfully providing rides to church and their "always" loving support, to her friends at Zion Lutheran Apartments, to family members and friends, especially her granddaughter and little helper angel, Terry Schaffer, that always remembered her with many kindness; to doctors, nurses and all others at Mercy Medical Center for their merciful care during her final days on Earth
