Geraldine (Farris) Neuman, age 73, of Omro, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 27, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. Gerry was born July 31, 1940 in Washington. She enjoyed working for her Puyallup Tribal Bingo Palace and Casino "EQC" in the State of Washington. For many years she served as their accountant and in later years as their phone operator. When Gerry retired she moved from the State of Washington to Wisconsin. Gerry loved her cats "Casper" and "Boots" which were actually her spoiled babies. They ruled the roost. She also enjoyed her weekly bible studies with the ladies. Gerry had a lot of wisdom and strength and was also very outgoing and would help anyone in need.
Gerry is loved and will be missed by her son, Ross (Karen) Bench of Omro; adopted son, Howard Bench of Tennessee; daughter in law, Tracy Bench of Winneconne; grandchildren, Camille Bench and her mother, Christine Novak of Washington, Ryan (Lisa) Bench, Deanna (Keith) Fischer; brother, Harold Farris of Washington; step daughter, Missy Neuman of Michigan; and former husband, Allen (Freddie) Bench of Michigan. She is further survived by other relatives, neighbors and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Gary Bench and husband, Alan Neuman.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m.
The family would like to thank the many nurses and caregivers who helped her through her illness.
