Obituary

Geraldine Mae Wagner, age 78, of Omro, passed away Friday, October 13, 2006 at home surrounded by the love of her family. She was born March 16, 1928 in Waupaca County the daughter of Herbert and Helena Luther Hazen. She married Russell E. Wagner in Oshkosh on February 7, 1947. Together they raised nine children. Over the years Gerry enjoyed playing cards, bowling, doing volunteer work, and being an active member of the Christian community. She will be remembered for being the best cook in Reighmoor. She also worked for a number of years at Paine Lumber Company in Oshkosh.

Geraldine is loved and will be missed by her husband of nearly 60 years, Russell; her children, Sharron (Robert) Ellis, Thomas R. Wagner, Barbara Wagner, Douglas (Mary Ann) Wagner, Dennis (Gloria) Wagner, all of Omro; Robert "Green" (Julie) Wagner, James (Sally) Wagner, Nancy (John) Deschaine, and Sandra (Richard) Jarzynka, all of Oshkosh; 17 grandchildren, Brett (Karla) Ellis, Rob Ellis, Kristin (Tom) Smith, Rusty (Mary) Wagner, Lisa Duncan, Leslie (Derek) Martin, Jennifer Hoessel, Michael and Corey Deschaine, Melissa (Daniel) Browning, Courtney Wagner, Charles Wagner, Angela (Loren) Schuhart, Tania and Jacob Wagner, David and Jonathan Jarzynka; 21 great grandchildren; sister, Josephine Garbe of Oshkosh; brother, Arthur Hazen of River Falls, WI; brother in law, William (Pat) Wagner; sister in law, Avis Hazen; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Cory Wagner; sisters, Harriet, Margaret, Bernice, Maria; and brother, Herbert, and mother in law, Viola Wagner.

In respect to Geraldine's memory, a visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at the funeral home in Omro from 4-8 P.M. and then on Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 720 Jackson Ave., Omro, from 9 A.M. until the time of the funeral service at 11 A.M. with Rev. Paul Mundinger officiating. Following the service, Gerry will be laid to rest in the Omro Cemetery. A memorial has been established in lieu of flowers. The family would like to thank the Affinity Hospice nurses, Dr. Gremminger and the Cancer Center staff.
