Gerd Beverly Lorraine Kelly (Nee Amaliksen), age 80, died Tuesday morning, May 6, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center. She was born January 18, 1928, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Arne and Signe (Thomassen) Amaliksen. She married Raymond Wesley Kelly on June 29, 1946, in Chicago. He preceded her in death on December 31, 1964. Gerd loved to travel and explore new places. During her life, she accompanied, moved and lived with her family in Midland, MI, Saginaw, MI, Grayling, MI, Louisville, KY, Mt. Prospect, IL, Marietta, GA, Smyrna, GA and finally Oshkosh, WI. As a newly married bride, Gerd had worked in radio and TV advertising in Chicago, before concentrating on her family. Gerd had many passions in life; she was an early riser and took pride in being a master puzzle solver. She was a remarkable woman who loved her family, had a strong faith, was devoted to her church and was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Oshkosh.

Gerd is loved and will be deeply missed by her children, Carol Irwin of Oshkosh, Linda (Ron) McLeod of Saginaw, MI and Sandy Fleming of Watertown, WI; grandchildren, Arne (Tonya) Irwin, Rob (Kris Ingmundson) Irwin, Kelly McLeod, Matthew McLeod, Michael Fleming, Susan Fleming and Will Fleming; great granddaughter, Madison Irwin; brother, Arne "Sig" (Trinket) Amaliksen of Derby, VT; aunt, Dorothy Nilsen of State College, PA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In respect to Gerd's memory, the family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Peace Lutheran Church, 240 W. 9th Ave., Oshkosh from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the Memorial Service at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Nancy Krueger officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
