Mrs. Gertrude Douglas, age 91, a former resident of Neenah, died on Wednesday, December 24, 2003 at Bethel Home. She was born on October 17, 1912 at Wausau, Wisconsin to the late Reverend and Mrs. P. Martin Pilz. Gertrude married Louis Douglas on September 17, 1949 and he preceded her in death on November 30, 1996. Prior to her marriage she taught in rural Wisconsin grade schools as well as in Waupaca and Neenah school systems.
Survivors include a step-son: Dr. Robert Douglas and his wife, Nan, of Neenah and their children: Robin and Dr. Bruce Douglas, Jean Weinshel, and Dr. Barbara Good; her brother: Otto Pilz of Toledo, Ohio; a sister-in-law: Dorothy Pilz of Alton, Illinois and her children: Catherine Massey of Godfrey, Illinois and David Pilz of Corvallis, Oregon. Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one brother: Gerhard Pilz.
Funeral services and interment will take place in Mount Olive, Illinois. Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels assisted the family with arrangements.
