Gertrude A. (Ternes) Postl age 96 of Oshkosh passed away on June 11, 2021, at Bethel Home. She was born on November 7, 1924, a twin, on the family farm on Hwy 21 and Sand Pit Road to William and Katherine (Evers) Ternes.

Gertrude was united in marriage to Douglas J. Postl on July 14, 1945.

Gertrude graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1944. Gertrude worked at many supper clubs before becoming the Food Service Supervisor at Oshkosh North High School. She retired after 30 years of service. She enjoyed knitting, needlepoint, and crocheting. Gertrude was a part of a hat club. She enjoyed traveling with her family. She was a drum corps mom for the Oshkosh Warriors.

She is survived by children Bobi (Dick) Hable, Gregory (Barb) Postl and Pamela (Patrick) Pawlak; and son-in-law, Lynn Resop, all of Oshkosh.

Gertrude has nine grandchildren, Robin (Carl) Sternhagen, Ross (Becky) Resop, Scott and Brian Hable, Preston (Karen) Postl, Dale (Hannah) Postl, Michelle (Sean) Angell, Matthew (Jenna) Harper and Mark (Madison) Pawlak. She also has seven great-grandchildren, Griffin Resop, Halia Sternhagen, Martina Angell, MaKayla Angell, Cora Postl, Linus Postl, and Alistair Postl. She is further survived by her sister, Marie Laiten.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas; a son, Curtis Postl; a daughter, Sandra Resop; twin sister, Elizabeth Barthels; sister Dorothy Grundy.

A visitation will be held at St. Andrews Church, 1100 Murdock Ave. Oshkosh, WI on Wednesday beginning at 9AM and lasting until the time of service at 11AM. Burial will take place following services at Lakeview Memorial Park.
