Gilbert R. Schell, age 80, of Oshkosh, passed away, Thursday, October 4, 2012, at Theda Clark medical Center. Gil was born on July 2, 1932, in Milwaukee to Steven & Dorothy (Kohnke ) Schell. He was a decorated Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He married Anna Molden on May 5, 1956, she preceded him in death. He retired from the Ladish Company in Milwaukee. He then married Kathleen (Leroy) Priebe on November 27, 1999. Gil loved traveling and the outdoors. There was nothing better than going up to Door County and sitting and watching nature go by. He was a member of the American Legion, the VFW and the Eagles Club.
Gil was loved and will be missed by his wife, Kathleen Schell of Oshkosh; sons, Curt (Jody) Schell of Brown Deer and Mike (Cathy) Kasper of Milwaukee; step-children, Roger (Denise) Priebe of Green Lake, Terry Priebe, Kim Priebe, Marty (Desiree) Priebe and John (Karla) Priebe, all of Oshkosh; grandchildren, Cameron, Christine, Danielle, Stephanie, Angel, Elle n, Samantha, Nathan, Cory, Aliah, Jose Rafael, Jose David, and Shaun; multiple great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 8, 2012, at the funeral home at 5:00 p.m., with Fr. William Van de Kreke officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be at the funeral home on Monday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Gil will be laid to rest at Arlington Cemetery, 4141 S. 27th St., Milwaukee, at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2012, with a visitation at the cemetery from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
