Gilbert J. "Gib" Wegner, age 47, of Oshkosh, died Saturday at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh. He was born January 15, 1957 in Stevens Point to Richard and June (Cleveland) Wegner. Gib loved nature, often hiking, camping and fishing. He enjoyed Blue Grass and country music, woodworking and was fascinated by wolves, but enjoyed all animals, especially his dog, George. Gib was a kind hearted man, who loved to help others.

Gib was loved and will be missed by his fiancée, Penny Butler of Oshkosh; his children, Steven Wegner of Oshkosh, Ashley Wegner of Muskego; his grandchildren Jacob and Jackson Wegner; his sisters "his girls", Lynn (Daniel) Kromm of Omro, Sue (Floyd) Brehmer of Oshkosh, Dawn (Darrel) Kortbein of Oshkosh, Mary (Gary) Gray of Oshkosh, Debi Tollard of Omro, Julie (Thomas) Terrace of Oshkosh, Ann Wegner of Oshkosh; his brother, Roger Wegner of Killeen, TX; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter Angie and his parents.

Visitation for Gib will be at the Omro Funeral Home, on Tuesday, November 2, 2004 from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday, November 3, 2004 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Paul Mundinger officiating. Burial will follow in Waukau Cemetery. A memorial is being established.
