Gloria L. Kortbein, age 73, of Omro, died peacefully at home on January 11, 2008. Gloria was born December 28, 1934, the daughter of James and Josephine Angle. She had worked as a cook at Omro Care Center for over 20 years. Gloria had a keen sense of family and was always interested in hearing what they were doing. Some of Gloria's passions in life were her cook books, playing cards, reading, dogs, and watching the birds and squirrels. Gloria was also a true Packer fan.
Gloria is loved and will missed by her husband of over 40 years, Raymond; children, Debra Basting, Steven Ochowicz, Carla Matulle, and Laurie (Scott) Bahr, all of Oshkosh, and Raymond (Sherri) Kortbein of Woodruff; sister, Mary (Robert) Garbe of Oshkosh; brothers, Kenneth (Ellie) Angle, David (Sandy) Angle, and Bill Angle, all of Oshkosh, and Paul Angle of Fremont. Gloria is further survived by her 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Wanda Janik; and brothers, Joe and Jim Angle.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 14, 2007 at St. Mary's Parish, 233 E. Scott St., Omro, from 4:00 P.M. until 6:45 P.M., with the Mass of Christian Burial being offered at 7:00 P.M. with Fr. Carl Schmitt and Sr. Pam Biehl officiating. A memorial is being established.
