Obituary

Gloria F. (Running) Schock, age 79, of Oshkosh, died Sunday morning, April 2, 2017, at Aurora Bay Care Medical Center in Green Bay. Born on May 22, 1937, in Oshkosh, the daughter of Earl and Margaret (McAdams) Running, Gloria married Lawrence Schock on September 24, 1955, in Oshkosh. He preceded her in death on December 4, 2006, having celebrated 50 years of marriage.
A graduate of Oshkosh High School, Gloria was employed by Zion Apartments as a building manager until her retirement. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church and over the years was active as a Stephan Minister, Sunday School Teacher, a member of the Altar Society, Bible Studies, and kitchen helper.
An important part of Gloria's life was time spent with her family, reading, shopping, flower gardening, and day trips with friends.
Survivors include a son, Pastor Jeffrey (Pamela) Schock of Latrobe, Pennsylvania; a daughter, Melissa (Keith) Reischl of Oshkosh; grandchildren, Michael Schock of Akron, Ohio, Emily (Chris) Linner of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Angela Schock of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Xavier, Elijah, and Gabriella Kienast, all of Oshkosh, and Andrew Reischl of Oshkosh; great-granddaughters, Peyton and Keira Schock, Harper Linner; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Schock; sisters-in-law, Frances running, Evelyn Raddatz, Eleanor Mottl, and Betty Wideman; nieces, nephews, and special friends. Preceding Gloria in death is her husband, parents, her mother and father-in-law, George and Katherine Schock, a sister, Marjorie Holzman, and her brothers, Gerald, Tom, and Jim Running.
Funeral services will be held (TODAY) Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at 12 Noon, in First English Lutheran Church, 1013 Minnesota Street, with Pastor Timothy Greenwald officiating. Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Park. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held today from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to First English Lutheran Church or Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, in Gloria's memory would be appreciated.
