Gordon P. Butzlaff, age 82, of Oracle, Arizona, and formerly of Oshkosh, died Saturday March 17, 2007 at Odyssey Health Care in Tucson, Arizona. He was born on May 12, 1924 in the Township of Mosinee to Gustav and Anna (Jirgl) Butzlaff. Gordon married Agnes Koss on August 28, 1948 in Oshkosh.
Gordon was employed in his early years by Felix Koss, where he drove truck and operated big equipment. He later was employed by Buckstaff Company and Dad's Rootbeer Bottling Company. For the last 39 years of his working career, Gordon was employed by Radford Company as a master at carpentry.
Gordon enjoyed time spent fishing, camping, golfing, bowling, dancing, listening to country and polka music, and telling jokes and stories. He was a wonderful family man, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. He was friend to many and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes Butzlaff; two sons, Jimmy Butzlaff, and Kenneth (Paula) Butzlaff; a daughter, Carol (James) O'Bright; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a brother, Elmer Butzlaff; and a sister, Alida Von Drasek. Preceding Gordon in death are his parents, two sisters, and a brother.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, with Reverend Douglas LeCaptain officiating. Entombment will follow services at Lake View Memorial Park. A time of visitation and support will be held on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
