Gordon Lee Foust, age 86, of Oshkosh, died with his family by his side, at his home on June 2, 2005. Gordon was born March 17, 1919 in Oshkosh, the son of William & Ruth (Church) Foust. He served his country for four years, four months as a member of the Wisconsin National Guard from 1938 to 1942. He enlisted in the Air Force, serving from March 6, 1942 to December 12, 1945 as an Airplane Crew Chief. He served in Assam, Burma and India. He married Betty R. Woeckner on January 27, 1942 in Oshkosh. Gordon worked as a Master Tool & Die Designer for Brickham Stamping Company for 38 years. At the age of 74, he designed his retirement home. He enjoyed playing contract bridge and driving his tractor. He especially enjoyed driving around his acreage with his grandchildren and great grandchildren on the golf cart. He worked indoors most of his life, so he really enjoyed being outdoors. He was always very active, helping his family with any projects. He started the Foust Tree Farms in 1969. He was an active member of American Legion Cook-Fuller Post 70, in the Honor Guard, Bingo and Bingo set-up, and he was also a member of the Last Mans' Club II.
Gordon is survived and will be missed by his wife of 63 years, Betty; his children, Gordon Lee Jr. (Jean) Foust of Oshkosh, Donna Lee (Daniel) Brooks of Waukesha, Steven Lee (Carla) Foust of Oshkosh, Carole Lee Foust of Oshkosh, the late Patricia Lee Foust (1952 – 2001) Gregory Lee (Barbara) Foust of Oshkosh, Jeffrey Lee (Carol) Foust of Oshkosh, and Gary Lee Foust of Oshkosh; his grandchildren, Brian (Melanie) Foust, Danielle Brooks (Chad Hammon), Robin (Patrick) Brooks-Drake, Daniel William Brooks III, Vicki (Mike) Booher, Corey (Tracy) Sphatt, Gina (Matthew) Knudsen, Kimberly Foust, Michael Foust, Connor Foust, Christy Lee Foust; his great grandchildren, Jennifer Roever; Elias & Henry Foust; Isabella Drake; Matthew, Gabrielle & Jacob Knudsen; Talia & Sydney Booher; Kamm & Callie Jean Sphatt; his brother Vernon (Lynn) Foust, two nieces, two nephews and friend, Donald Volkman and his dog, Sandy.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family burial will take place at a later date. The family wishes to thank Aurora Hospice for their compassionate care during Gordon's last week and Father Bill Van De Kreeke.
