Obituary

Gordon "Gordy" E. Miller, age 79, of Oshkosh, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2013. He was born in Oshkosh on July 3, 1933, the son of the late Harry and Katherine (Henke) Miller. On September 11, 1958, he married his wife of 54 years, Geraldine Morris. Gordon was proud to serve in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a Foreman working for Ben B. Ganther Construction, and later, Plant Manager for Duwe Precast until time of retirement. He had been a member of The Masonic Temple.
Gordon was known to be an expert trap shooter and had been a member of Fox Valley Gun Club in Omro. He loved working on a wood lathe and with great skill created heirloom bowls, plates and goblets out of wood from around the world. He also made heirloom pieces from the wood of Oshkosh's famed Cameron Oak tree. Gordon enjoyed nature, wildlife and long walks.
Gordon is survived by his wife, Geraldine; a brother, David (Toni) Miller of Stone Lake, WI; nephews: Mike Miller of Whittier, N.C. and David Miller Jr. (Connie) of Oshkosh. He is further survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Vernon and Marilyn Foust of Oshkosh; and brother-in-law, Steven Morris. He is further survived by nieces: Penny (Burton) Schmidt of Oshkosh and Dawn (Mike) Bernier of Oshkosh; and nephews: Roger (Linda) Foust of Omro and Malcom (Kathy) Foust of Sheboygan, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Katherine Miller, and a brother, Marvin Miller.
The funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the Seefeld Funeral Home, with Rev. Martin Ruge officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Oshkosh, with Military Honors.
