Grace M. Jorgens, age 88, died Tuesday afternoon, July 10, 2007. She was born on December 21, 1918 to Clarence and Jennie (McWilliams) Rowe. Grace married Jerome Jorgens on August 27, 1949 and he preceded her in death on October 4, 1993.


Grace attended a rural school in Porterfield, Wisconsin and was a 1936 graduate of Marinette High School. She received her Teaching Certificate in 1937 from Stephenson Training School in Marinette. Grace later attended and graduated from UW-Oshkosh. She taught in rural schools in the Marinette and Coleman School Districts. Later she was employed by the Oshkosh School District, teaching at Merrill Elementary, Dale, and Webster-Stanley Schools.


Grace was a member of Algoma Blvd. United Methodist Church, 50 year member of Order of Eastern Star-Oshkosh, 50 year member of White Shrine of Jerusalem-Oshkosh, Ajab Temple #156 Daughters of the Nile-Green Bay, and a member of Evergreen Retirement Community Auxiliary.


Survivors include a daughter, Gayle (Edward) Harris of Bayside, Wisconsin; two grandchildren, Nicholas Harris and Katherine Harris; a brother, John (Louise) Rowe of Windsor, Wisconsin, and a sister-in-law, Margaret Rowe of Marinette, Wisconsin. Preceding Grace in death are her husband, parents, a sister, Fay Wood, and two brothers, Donald and Willard Rowe.


Memorial funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 15, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in Algoma Blvd. United Methodist Church, 1174 Algoma Blvd., with Reverend Barry Yarbro officiating.
