Obituary

Gregory "Gregg" Joseph Deimer age 32, of Omro, died peacefully at home surrounded by the love of his family on Wednesday morning, July 25, 2007 after losing a courageous battle to cancer. Gregg was born on February 8, 1975 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Gary and Beverly (Steinberg) Deimer. He graduated with a BFA from Iowa State University in 1998. He married Patricia Ford on September 6, 2003. Gregg was an aviation enthusiast since one of his first flight was given to him by his Aunt Carla at age 10 and had a true passion for flying. He earned his private pilot's license at the age of 17. Gregg was the proud co-owner of a Krier Cub, which he truly enjoyed flying with his friend Adam. Gregg was employed by EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) where he also volunteered and gave of his time and talents. Gregg accomplished much in his life and was proud when the Cub was chosen for the cover of the July 2006 Sport Aerobatics Magazine. Besides aviation, Gregg was a German Car Enthusiast, and also enjoyed salt water aquariums and was an excellent drummer. He loved being with his wife, family and friends and was an excited Uncle to little Morgen.

Gregg was loved and will be missed by his wife, Patricia "Trish" Deimer of Omro; his parents, Gary and Bev Deimer of Marion, IA; his sister, Michele (Daniel) Brooks of Seattle, WA; his nephew, Morgen Joseph Brooks; grandparents, Alvin and Ethel Steinberg; aunts and uncles, Carla (Glen) Schwark of Appleton, David Steinberg of New London, Audrey (Melvin) Glatz of Fremont, Karen Gauthier of Sierra Vista, AZ; his mother and father in law, James and Edith Ford of Davenport, IA, brother in law, Jeremy Ford of Davenport, IA; sister in law, Renee (Bill) Mitchell of Virginia Beach, VA; his loyal canine companion, Gee-Bee, other relatives and many friends.

Gregg was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Marie Deimer.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 30, 2007 at the Omro Funeral Home from 4-8 P.M. Visitation will then continue on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 in Marion Hall at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Omro, from 9:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Joseph Mattern officiating. Gregg will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery in Greenville.
