Hans J. Christiansen, age 82, of Omro, died peacefully Saturday evening, May 19, 2012, at his residence with his family by his side. Hans was born January 11, 1930, in Cobb, WI., the son of Hans and Astra Christiansen. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Hans was a Baker by trade and had worked in a Commercial Bakery for many years. His children and grandchildren fondly recall how he liked to bake cookies and cakes for them and to show them how to bake. On Saturday evenings, he could be found playing Texas Hold'em Poker with his family. He loved his family, grandchildren, dogs and watching birds. Hans moved to Omro from Milwaukee in January of 2005.

Hans is loved and will be missed by his daughter, Dawn (Steve Khuns) Christiansen of Omro; stepchildren, Susan (Butch) Harvey of Norcross, GA, and John (Linda) Cummings of Fox Lake, IL; 4 grandchildren, Melissa (Donny Alcorn) Christiansen, Xochitl (Brian) Schultz, Matthew Martinez and Bianca Martinez; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Katherine and Annie; son in law, William Bishop of Greendale, WI; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joan and daughter, Sandra Bishop.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 6:00 p.m. A memorial is being established in Hans' name. The family would like to thank Aurora VNA, Shelly, Bev, Jean & Joan, and Dr. Allyson Larson.
