Harold Donald "Fish" Fisher, age 69, of Oshkosh, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, November 25, 2004 at Bethel Home. He was born on March 24, 1935 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin a son of the late Joseph L. and Mary (Woolley) Fisher Sr.
Harold was a long-time resident of Oshkosh, and lived in Waupaca for a brief time. He served his country in the US Navy in Korea and Japan. Harold was a Barber by profession and work at Finn's Barber Shop, Fisher's on Witzel, the Valley Fair Shopping Center, the Campus Barber Shop in Appleton, Don's Barber Shop in Waupaca and he had owned and operated Harold's Barber Shop at 17th and Oregon Street in Oshkosh for 16 years until his health required retirement. Harold greatly enjoyed riding his motorcycle and the times spent with his friends.
He is survived by two sons, Jesse (Sharon) Fisher of Oshkosh, Scott (Cindy) Fisher of Green Bay; a daughter, Kathy (Bert) Hoppe of Oshkosh; a brother, Joseph (Gen) Fisher Jr.; two sisters, Barbara (Mike) Binder and Nancy (Jerry) Davis all of Oshkosh; six grandchildren, Zachary Fisher; Rachel Fisher; Nicole, MacKenzie, Austin and Karigan Hoppe. He is further survived by stepchildren and step-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald and a granddaughter, Alyssa Fisher.
A Requiem High Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 29, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 1184 Chapelle Rue (off Lost Dauphin Road) in West De Pere, with Fr. Hector Bolduc celebrating. Burial will be in the St. Michael's Parish Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, Oshkosh on Sunday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 6:45 p.m., at which time a Parish Rosary service will be held. Visitation will resume on Monday at the church in De Pere from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of floral expressions, a memorial fund is being established.
Harold's family would like to extend special thanks to Roy Peterson, Sylvia Fisher, Nancy Helke and Bethel Home for the special care given to Harold during this difficult time.
