Obituary

Harold R. "Harry" Stevenson, age 80, originally of Oshkosh, died Wednesday afternoon, May 25, 2005 at his care home in Peoria, Arizona, following a lengthy illness. He was born on December 17, 1924 to Harold and Lillian Stevenson. Harry was a life-long Oshkosh resident until moving to the Phoenix, Arizona area seven years ago.
Harry served in the U.S. Army in the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) from April 1943 until he was honorably discharged on November 18, 1945. During his service, he was stationed in England, India Burma, Ceylon, and Washington, D. C. After returning home, he was employed by Diamond Match Company, and later by Miles Kimball Company from 1951 until his retirement in 1988.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years: Delores Stevenson of Peoria, Arizona; one son: Douglas (Jane) Stevenson of Phoenix, Arizona; four grandchildren: Amy (Leon) Crandell, Tracy (Brett) Arnold, Tami (Eric) Laue, and Scott Stevenson, all of Phoenix, Arizona; four great-grandchildren: Ashlyn Crandell, Savanah Crandell, Brittney Arnold, and Jessica Arnold, all of Phoenix, Arizona; two nieces: Jean (James) Campbell of Oshkosh; Deborah (Gary) Wiltsey of Racine; and one nephew: Billy Robl of Oshkosh. Preceding Harry in death are his parents and one sister: Estelle (William) Robl.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 300 North Eagle Street, with Reverend David Pagel officiating. Interment will follow the services at Lake View Memorial Park with military honors given by the United Veterans Honor Guard. A time of visitation and support will be held on Monday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral chapel.
