Harold E. Weiss, age 91, passed away peaceably at Omro Care Center on July 27, 2016. He was born November 27, 1924, to Alexander E. Weiss and Elizabeth (Moxon) Weiss in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. He married Judith A. Drucks on August 6, 1966, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.He served in the Army Air Corp, training as a navigator on a B-24. Fortunately, the war ended just before he was to ship out overseas. His military schooling took him to the Rank of Major. He was qualified to fly fixed wing as well as helicopters. After Graduating from UW Stevens Point, he taught high school math and physics at Rosholt, Iola and Freedom for a total of 11 years. Harold then moved to Oshkosh where he was The Company Commander of the Transportation Unit of the Oshkosh National Guard. He also took a job at Rockwell in the Mechanical Engineering department until his retirement. Harold also headed up the Meteorology Unit at the Two Rivers National Guard where he retired after 41 years of military service to his country.Harold is survived by his wife, Judith; a son, David E. Weiss, Oshkosh; a daughter, Terr i Lee (Scott) Rorek, DeForest, WI., and two grandsons, Alex and Christian Rorek. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, Ruth, and his brother, Frederick.Cremation has taken place and according to Harold's wishes, there will be a private Committal service with Military Honors at Green Lawn Cemetery in Neenah, WI., at a later date.The family wishes to thank all those who cared for Harold and those who visited him---Brightening his day.
