Harriet J. Reichenberger, age 85, of Oshkosh, died Sunday afternoon, September 13, 2015, at Aurora Medical Center. Born on July 7, 1930, in Oshkosh, to Ralph and Elsie (Schuff) Dorman, Harriet married Theodore Reichenberger Jr. on October 30, 1954, at Christ Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. Ted preceded Harriet in death on September 23, 1981.
She attended Mear School, a one room country school, later going to Ball Prairie School, and finishing her schooling at Omro High School. Never one to shy away from work, Harriet, her sister, and their mother, hoed 8 acres of muskmelon for a neighbor for two summers. She worked at Winneconne Canning Company during harvest time, part-time worker at Woolworth's Dime Store, Miles Kimball during the Christmas season, seasonally at Pickett Canning Company, and Badger Lumber Company. Harriet enjoyed family gatherings, her vegetable garden, birds and cats, being a "rockhound," and collecting salt and pepper shakers. She was a life-long member of Christ Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her children, Susan (Richard Sr.) Andre, Debora Reichenberger, Norman (Nancy) Reichenberger, and Lisa Reichenberger; 7 grandchildren, Richard (friend, Jordan) Andre Jr., T.J. (friend, Jenn) Andre, Casey (friend, Kaitlin) Andre, Angela (friend, Reuben) Andre, Kevin (Brenda) Reichenberger, Amy (Kevin) Boldt, and Brad (Sabrina) Lokken; 5 great-grandchildren, Brayden, Hannah, Hunter, Lillian, and Abree; a sister, Charlotte (Clarence) Eichstadt; a sister-in-law, Sue Dorman; nieces, nephews, cousins, and other friends. Preceding Harriet in death is her husband, parents, two sisters, Shirley Papenfuss and Arlene Lewis, and a brother, Kenneth Dorman.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2015, at 12 Noon, at Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Church Ave., Oshkosh. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery following the services. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Seefeld Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, and on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
