Harry "Butch", "Pa" Honsinger, Jr.,age 74, of Oshkosh, passed away after a brief illness with his wife and family by his side at Mercy Medical Center on Tuesday, January 31, 2017. He was born in Oshkosh on April 24, 1942, the son of the late Harry and Ruth (Brown) Honsinger. On February 14, 1997 he married Sherry Soma in Oshkosh. Butch worked for Oshkosh Truck as a welder for many years, retiring in 1999. In his early years, Butch enjoyed racing boats. He was past president of Sundowner M.C. Riding his motorcycles, hunting, and being with his friends were among his favorite activities. He will be remembered for being a social person who would give you the shirt off his back.
Butch is survived by his wife of 20 years, Sherry; children: Tammy (David) Wood and Scott (Karen) Honsinger; grandchildren: Joshua, Mikayla and Benjamin Honsinger; sister, Karen (Ken) Mueller; nephew, Troy Mueller; and his Greyhound, Victor. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Donna (Ken) Mueller.
A visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time the memorial service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the funeral home.
The family extends a special thank you to the Mercy I.C.U. staff, Dr. Jacobus, Dr. Zornosa, Dr. Qureshi, and Dr. Ringwala for the wonderful care they gave to Butch. Further, thank you to Dr. Fisher for his great care over the years.
