Harry C. Kimball, age 90, of Oshkosh, died Saturday afternoon, March 29, 2008 at Bethel Home in Oshkosh. He was born in Oshkosh on June 10, 1917, the son of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Wright)Kimball.
He graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1936. On October 12, 1940 he married Edna Pfaffenroth. During WWII, Harry served with the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne. On his return to Oshkosh, Harry joined the Oshkosh Fire Department, where he retired as a duty chief after serving for 31 years.
Harry enjoyed time spent fishing, gardening, sports, and his special recipe for coffee. He loved sharing his life with his wife, Edna, and baking cookies with his daughter, Judy. Harry was a good husband, father, and friend.
Left to mourn his passing is his wife, Edna Kimball of Oshkosh; a daughter, Judy (Allen Barkoff) Kimball; numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. Preceding Harry in death is his son, Gary; his parents; three brothers, Bill, George, and Carl; and five sisters, Dorothy, Mary, Clara, Betty, and Bea.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 300 North Eagle Street. Interment at Riverside Cemetery will follow the services. A time of visitation and sharing of memories will be held on Wednesday from 12 Noon to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
