Obituary

Harry Allen (Pee Wee) Lee, age 85 of Omro, died peacefully Tuesday evening, April 11, 2006 at the Omro Care Center.

Harry was born in Omro, October 20, 1920 to Harry L. and Forest Marshall Lee. He attended Omro Schools, graduating in 1938. After graduation he worked at the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corp) camps in northern Wisconsin until enlisting in the U.S. Army. Pee Wee served his country during WWII rising to the rank of 2nd Lt. in the U. S. Army. He was in the Army from March l940 until October 1945, and was a graduate of Officers Training School. He was stationed at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii and was a survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. He married Marian Von Rembow in Hugo, OK on May 7, 1943. Dad loved to tell everyone they honeymooned in Paris, then quickly added "Paris, Texas that is!" Marian preceded him in death in April 2002.

In addition to his wife, Marian, his mother, Forest, stepfather, Theodore Halvorson and sister, Neva Bufka, preceded him in death. Immediately after his discharge from the Army, he worked for Dick Cole at Cole's Garage in Omro. He worked at Rockwell International for more than 30 years. In his younger years, he played softball for Rockwell International and basketball for the Oshkosh Rec League. In his later years he was an avid golfer; joining both FarVu Country Club and Wedgewood Golf Course.

He is survived by two daughters, Leslie (Gary) Treleven, of Shenandoah Junction, WV, and Nicky Hoffman Lee, of Oshkosh, six grandchildren, Jannie (Jon) Gardner, MD, Greg (Reagan) Treleven, MD, Mark (Wendy) Treleven, all of West Virginia, Lee Marohn, of Oshkosh, Tracey (Todd) Miller of Omro, Amy Hoffman and fiancé Mark Bargenquast. of Oshkosh, and 6 great grandchildren. He is further survived by one special brother-in-law, John "Bud" Grant, Omro, and 2 sisters in law, Jane Von Rembow, CA and Patricia Von Rembow, PA and many nieces and nephews.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to all the nurses and staff at the Omro Care Center for making Dad part of your family, and treating him with such wonderful loving care.

Visitation will be at the Omro Funeral Home on Friday, April 14, 2006, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. with a service directly following. Memorials in Harry's name have been established for the Omro Veteran's Memorial Fund and Omro High School.
