Mrs. Helen Marie Binder went to be with her dear Savior on Wednesday, February 1, 2006. Helen was born in the beautiful month of September in Eureka, the daughter of John and Myrtle (Allen) Barnett.
She attended the Eureka State Graded School an excelled in spelling in her class. She attended the Eureka Methodist church going to Sunday school and Wednesday evening to prayer meeting. She was baptized along with her sister Vera there.
After moving to Omro in 1936, she attended the First Baptist Church until its disbandment and after moving to Oshkosh in 1994 she attended Wyldewood Baptist and enjoyed Pastor Randy's sermons with her love for the Lord, when he gave the invitations.
She married Wenzel Binder in Oshkosh at the home of her sister Vera George, who was one of her attendants, by Reverend Robert Wiegner from the First Baptist Church of Omro.
Helen was an avid reader and had an exceptional memory. She loved the out doors and her many flowers she raised and had a love for animals and fed all the strays that came to her doors.
She believed in honesty and her Lord and "Lo I am with you always" was a solace to her from the Lord in the Bible.
Survivors include two daughters: Myrtle Edwards, Rosalie Rieben; one step-son Richard Binder; many grand and great-grandchildren; a sister, Elva McElroy; and her cousin, Ruth Jesse of Crandon.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, her parents, also two caring and thoughtful sisters, Vera George of Oshkosh, and Thelma Haase, Neenah. After the loss of her husband they did things to help her loneliness with their kindness and love. She was also preceded in death by two dear brothers Harold Barnet of Eureka and Clayton Barnett of Neenah, seven brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law.
A special thank you is given to her granddaughter, Lori, for making her Sundays special.
She will be laid to rest by her husband who dearly loved her along with her mother's Bible in the family plot in Eureka. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 4, at 1:30 P.M. led by Reverend Randall King. Arrangements are through Seefeld Funeral Chapels.
